But today, the second has an even more significance, as it marks our one year wedding anniversary. One year ago today, Ben and I stood in Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church and committed our lives to each other in front of our friends and families. It was the most incredible day for both of us, and we are fortunate to have wonderful memories of the entire celebratory weekend.
Little did we know that we would be marking our anniversary one day later from Iraq and Peru. And although these are certainly unwelcome circumstances, I think that we both have come to appreciate these past few months for how much stronger our relationship has become.
Thank you to all of our friends and family who celebrated with us last year on this day. And thank you to all of you who have been such a huge support to us throughout this year, from sending Ben care packages, emailing both of us, and praying for safe passage until we are both at home, safe and sound, on U.S. soil.
Love to all, but most importantly, to my amazing husband and my hero, Ben.

Happy Anniversary to you guys! It was an honor and privilege to stand with you last year!
Love,
Catherine
Can someone please pass a tissue? Love to both of you on this very special day!
Happy anniversary, Becky and Ben...and may the LORD bless you with many more where your amazing adventures have you in the same place on this and every other day.
Happy, happy anniversary!! Here's to many more that you can truly celebrate together! You know, the first anniversary is the paper anniversary, and I can think of no better paper than the plane ticket to Greece to be together in a few weeks......
Also, for Ben, I totally celebrate the half-birthday (I'll be with Becky in SA - very exciting), and I wish you a day of peace and happiness!!
Hi Becky - Happy Anniversary for 2nd June.
Cam and I were separated on our first and fifth wedding anniversaries due to his work, so I know how hard it is.
Not long to go until you see Ben. I can't wait to hear all about Greece! Then you are truly on the downhill run.
I admire and respect your strength.
Big hugs to you girl - we are thinking of the two of you,
Soph (and Cam) xoxoxo
